Into the Storm: The Assassination of President Kennedy Volume 3, John M. Newman, 2019, Kindle Edi-tion, pp 378.
The author does not contend that Lewis McWillie had anything to do with JFK’s death. It is important understand Ruby’s association with organized crime. He was not a disgruntled night club owner and in reailty was sent to Dallas in the late 1940’s to open up the rackets for the Chicago mob. And he ran guns for the mob. The author does believe that Jack Ruby was in the thick of things in Dallas. Ruby is one of the poignant pieces of the puzzle that link to many people in and out of the assassination loop. And it is vital that a light shine on Johnny Roselli, so intrigue in the mafiaCIA plots against Castro.

A Ferrie Tale, Kindle Edition, David T. Beddow, Section 191-1924, April 30, 2019. Although, David Ferrie’s flying Patch Kincaid and Ray Meinkewitz into Cuba prior to the Bay of Pigs invasion is fictional, Ferrie’s actual flights into Cuba is importance to the credibility of the Easterly/Ferrie character. Ferrie bravely made flights under dangerous conditions and references the Patch/Meinkewitz flight to Cuba, thus further jarring Patch’s suppressed memory.
Obviously, del Valle, former congressman under Batista in Cuba and member of the anti-Castro communi-ty would not be dumping information on Patch Kincaid, but as an informative literary device it works well.

Oswald’s predilections inside the Bringuier Store are critical in understanding the operation he was in-volved in. The duplicitous Mr. Oswald later hands out communist literature promoting a fist fight with Bringuier. This incident as well as the other phony public proclamations of being a Marxist, needs to be comprehended when viewing Oswald as drifting loner somehow spending what little money he had on Marxist campaigns for the Fair Play for Cuba Committee. We now know that David Phillips and George Joannides of the CIA were an integral part of controlling Oswald and the dismantling of the FPCC.

Not only was Clay Shaw, one of Oswald’s handlers in New Orleans, a paid contract source by the CIA, but his connections to Permindex, located in Rome and home to Centro Mondiale Commerciale (CMC) cannot be overlooked. Shaw was a member of CMC directorship. It has long been thought that William Harvey was exiled to Rome after his falling out with the Kennedys. Buried in E. Howard Hunt’s deathbed confession is the assertion that Harvey organized the assassination from Rome and hired Corsican sharpshooters. Whether this is true is a matter of debate but having someone at the level and competence of Bill Harvey, loathing the Kennedys with an obsessive grudge, still involved in ZR/Rifle assassinations and incredibly connected throughout Europe and the world, is highly suspicious.

Bringing in Richard Case Nagell demonstrates prior knowledge of the JFK plot. Nagell’s dumping of knowledge on Patch is for the reader’s understanding of the world beyond the headlines. Nagell warns Patch to stop his surveillance and disappear. Later, however, the fictitious Nagell forces Patch to check on Oswald in Mexico City which allows the true story of Oswald in Mexico City to be told.

If this part of the plot setup had succeeded Lee Harvey Oswald would have gained employment at the East Louisiana State Hospital. They would have manipulated personal records and inferred that Oswald was a patient. When President Kennedy was assassinated the headline would include a portion on the defector Oswald who was treated as a mental patient at the East Louisiana State Hospital. Once the story was en-grained in the public consciousness removing the propaganda would be impossible. One only need to read The Oxbow Incident by Walter Van Tilburg Clark to understand what happens when mass hysteria takes over reality.

Amazing that Oswald was convinced to act crazy inside the East Louisiana State Hospital’s personnel office. He shouted and screamed that that he knew how to use guns. Had this portion of the setup been successful this rant would have been part of Oswald’s fictious historical record.

Oswald’s placement at the Reilly Coffee Company is interesting. Apparently, he was able leave frequent-ly and did not appear as an oiler in the operation. He was neat and had a crease in his pants! Reilly himself was a benefactor to anticommunist groups. Oswald’s employment provided a convenient cover to operate within the FBI/Customs agents/ and antiCastro Cubans.

Obviously, this testimony by Robert McKeown under oath enlightens the reader to that fact that Oswald was being manipulated, setup with an interest in guns, and in the company of an antiCastro Cuban. This socalled loner, drifter who did not drive a car seems to have found money and transportation to purchase guns. Oswald has marginal, low paying jobs where he leaves or is fired yet he travels from New Orleans to Texas, sometimes Miami and Mexico City.

Chapter Twenty-Seven-JIM PEARL AND INSTRUCTIONS
Jim Pearl is brought into the book as a vehicle only to demonstrate Antonio Veciana’s personal motives and vendetta to smear David Phillips and possible cover his relations with Army Intelligence. Veciana be-lieved he was setup by Phillips to take the rap on a cocaine deal. Many years it was believed that after extended interviews with Gaeton Fonzi that Lee Oswald met with David Phillips at the Southland Center in Dallas, a mere sixty days before Kennedy was killed according to Veciana.

Harry Holmes’s inside connections are manifested by his actions. It is documented that Holmes was an FBI informant. The bizarre manufactured evidence of Oswald ordering a MannlicherCarcano from Klein’s in Chicago) by Harry Holmes is not real. (Klein’s linked to Interpen leader Gerry Hemming). The evasive Mr. Holmes never could produce postal form 2162 from Klein’s. Regulations specified that the name on the parcel match the owner of the P.O. Box. A. Hidell did not align with the name Lee Harvey Oswald. Further, subversives (Fair Play for Cuba Committee) were followed. Homes flagged the letter by Oswald to the FPCC but could not locate a fully shipped rifle from Klein’s? Finally, where was Holmes’s receipt of the money order to Klein’s? (The socalled money orders were never deposited never made it through the banking system. One of the money orders was found by a clerk in the national archives on the weekend of the assassination. None of this makes sense unless Oswald was framed.

The Last Investigation, Gaeton Fonzi, Thunder Mouth Press: New York, 1993, pp. 141.
Originally, this novel highlighted with great gusto a meeting witnessed by Antonio Veciana between Lee Oswald and David Atlee Phillips. The scene was rewritten because of Dr. John Newman’s continuing unravel-ing and reverse engineering of the new JFK documents. Veciana’s true motives in concocting the story show his link to Army Intelligence.

The purpose of bringing Richard Cain into the novel is not to place him in the plot to kill the President. Roselli’s confidence in Patch is shown by Cain, a member of Chicago’s outfit. Although reluctant he toler-ates Patch and Shari. Cain’s linking to electronic surveillance in Mexico City remains nebulous but notable. Cain orders Patch roughed up in order to test Patch’s nefarious relationship with Roselli. Two bits of infor-mation about Oswald are evident and unresolved. Valle’s Falcon is registered to Oswald with New York license plates and Cain tells them that Oswald was in Chicago about the Fair Play for Cuba Committee last April. Cain also relates Johnny Roselli’s involvement in attempts to kill Castro.

John Martino would never unload insider’s knowledge to Patch despite Patch’s relationship with Roselli. John Martino, however, is very close to the nexus of the plot and would have firsthand knowledge of the plot and the exiles. The character is critical to establish Bill Harvey’s grudge with the Kennedys as well as how Bobby Kennedy humiliated Sam Giancana during the McClellan Committee hearings. Martino tells Patch about John Roselli’s working with the intelligence agencies and his bravery under fire. It is easy to discount Bill Harvey by his bulging eyes, har drinking and overweight appearance. His status would be equal to general in the military. Patch is unaware that someone being hit means JFK.

Some of the anomalies concerning Richard Case Nagell are staggering to the Kennedy Case. Nagell knew Oswald in Japan, specifically at the intelligence hangout, The Queen Bee. Oswald’s Uniformed Services Identification and Privileges Card is in Nagell’s possession at the time of his arrest-so are Oswald’s Fair Play for Cuba pamphlets.

Oswald’s radio broadcast was a Dave Phillips project. Army Intelligence had operatives like Oswald all over the country to make the FPCC look bad. Phillips and Hunt set up the FPCC operation. Cartha DeLoach from the FBI supervised it all. Arcacha Smith and Q, along with Ferrie, have convinced Oswald to get sucked into the plot. Butler, the radio host is a CIA asset. Oswald reported everything to the FBI agents in New Orleans. Oswald met Agent de Brueys at the customs house off Canal Street. Oswald was in the COINTELPRO project. COINTELPRO was an FBI operation that disrupted domestic political organizations. Oswald set up the incident with Bringuier. An audio tape recording of a conversation between Lee Oswald and Nagell existed. Oswald worked at the company in Dallas who did the map overlays for the U2 flights over Cuba. CIA asset Riley funded Arcacha Smith and the exiles. Riley’s VP at the coffee company was a former FBI agent. Four of Oswald’s coworkers at riley were sent by the CIA to work for NASA. Mrs. Paine’s husband Michael’s stepfather invented the Bell Helicopter. Mrs. Paine’s father is a collateral intelligence contact and had been employed by the OSS. Her sister is a psychologist for the CIA and Michael an asset. Mrs. Paine’s garage in Irving has filing cabinets full of letters, maps, records, and index cards on proCastro supporters. Oswald was given an instant passport when his background demanded legally that he never get a passport because of his defection attempt in Russia. CIA sent Oswald to Russia along with a dozen other guys. He defected and had secrets about the U2 and threatened to give them to the KGB. They held him for weeks before he was sent to Minsk. And then the U2 is shot down six months later. Oswald easily entered the United States with a Russian wife the State Department illegally giving him a passport. Even Bobby Kennedy knows about Oswald. They are setting it up so that an important KGB contact in the assassination bureau supposedly meets with Oswald.

Kennedy’s pushing a test ban treaty had some military people livid and contributed to the toxic atmos-phere in the Pentagon and Intelligence agencies toward Kennedy just ninety days before JFK was taken down in Dallas. Inserting portions of the Test Ban Speech into the novel provides a closer scrutiny of the trust both sides would have post missile crisis.

The author initially had two versions of the Oswald trip to Mexico City at the end of September 1963. Repeated study of the lack of evidence of Oswald being on the bus or visiting the consulates can only lead to the conclusion he was being impersonated. Descriptions of the man inside the Cuban consulate does not match Lee Oswald. In the midst of intelligence monitoring in Mexico City there is not one image of Oswald that would verify his presence in Mexico City.

Although James Angleton shows up in many situations and places during his career, his unnamed pres-ence in Mexico City allows poetic license to insert the 1963 Cuban and world situation into Patch’s interro-gation. It is a time when the intelligence agencies are both furious and frightened by Kennedy’s use of reporter Lisa Howard, ambassador Atwood and Cuban UN Ambassador Lechuga to foster a new relationship with Cuba and Castro after the missile crisis. The result of this information trickling out to the anti-Castro exiles caused intense hatred, hostility and calls for revenge.

The framing of Oswald is deftly accomplished by Bernardo de Torres (Leopardo) with Angel Mugado by presenting Oswald at Silvia Odio’s apartment as a crazy nut who is an expert with a rifle. Only problem is that Oswald is supposed to be in Mexico City at the same time. Someone else in intelligence is running a concurrent operation. Also, Angel Mugado was very close to Robert F. Kennedy. By maneuvering Mugado into the position with Oswald, the conspirators could be assured Robert F. Kennedy would not pursue the real killers of his brother.

With a softer approach Patch is placed in a comfortable bedroom in the station chief’s house. Now he is grilled about spy Kim Philby and other Russian spies and moles. Then the questioning turns toward Patch’s presence in Mexico City at that time. Patch knows nothing about MK/ULTRA. (mind control) He is even asked about Marina Prusakova (Oswald). The interrogation is useless because Patch knows nothing.

The author fully realizes the reader, seeking information on the Kennedy Assassination, is being taken into the science fiction realm. I would only echo Rod Serling’s maintaining that his scripts had greater latitude in the science fiction/fantasy arena. Certainly, slowing down the action in Dealey Plaza contributes to the greater understanding of the assassination.

The character Rico, disfigured by some of the exiles, and willing to accept future money from Shari, feeds information to her. Also, the numerous exiles at the safe houses are listed although they may not be direct-ly involved with killing Kennedy. Rico is always listening and although he seems like a gopher for the exiles, he absorbed huge chunks of information, which he passes on to Shari for future money.
